This talk by Amy Peikoff shows that in order for government to protect individual rights, laws must be objective in both content and form. Dr. Peikoff explains what objectivity entails in this context, and illustrates—via examples connected to some of today’s top news stories—the consequences of non-objective law. The talk was delivered at UCLA on January 30, 2010, and was hosted by LOGIC, the UCLA Objectivist club.

Special emphasis is given to Objectivism’s radical moral defense of free markets and Ayn Rand’s view that capitalism is the system of objectivity.
